17 Nigerian Lawyers Get SAN (Senior Advocate of Nigeria) Rank

                             

Seventeen (17) distinguished legal practitioners in Nigeria have been elevated to the elitist Senior Advocate
of Nigeria (SAN) rank by the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee.

Prominent amongst the lawyers are Ms. Olufunke Aboyade, the Editor of THISDAY newspaper’s law page insert, THISDAY Lawyer; the Attorney General of Enugu State, Mr. Anthony Ikechukwu Ani; as well as a private prosecutor for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Godwin Obla

The Secretary of the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee, Mr. Sunday Olorundahunsi, who made the names public Friday, said the new SANs would be decorated and inducted at a later date.

In all, 43 lawyers were shortlisted and considered for the privileged rank, THEWILL gathered. Only 17 were approved after their interview by the committee.

The other elevated lawyers are Adele Eberechi, Olumide Sofowora, Uko Udom, Suraj Sa'Eda, Anthony Anaenugwu, Joe Abrahams, Akinlolu Timothy Kehinde, Prof Lawrence Asekome Atsegbua, Biriyai Dmabo, Chukwuma-Machukwu Ume, Olalekan Fatai Yusuf, Moyosore Jubril Onigbanjo, Aliyu Maitasamu Abdullahi and Victoria Olufunmilayo Awomolo.
