Dead on arrival

A reliable source revealed in Lagos Tuesday that the marriage between Funke and Kehinde was shaky from the start, adding that the marriage was, in any case, "dead on arrival."

News of the failed marriage first broke when Kehinde Oloyede announced the separation between himself and the actress via a post on Facebook.

"It's with heavy heart that am announcing the separation of me nd ma wife Mrs Olufunke Akindele, we've both agreed to go our separate ways coz of irreconcilable difference. We still best of friends nd we 4ever remain gud friends".

"Am doing just fine, gettn along without u,don't need u anymore in ma life.u d greatest mistake av made in recent time", Kehinde Oloyede added in the post.

Around the same time, Funke Akindele changed her Blackberry Message name from 'Mrs Funke Akindele Oloyede' to 'Everyone loves Jenifa'.

In the cloudy and magical environment of Nollywood, real events tend to take on mystical dimension, and the Akindele-Oloyede marriage has not been immune from that trend.

"Funke Akindele believes the marriage between her and Kehinde was made possible through the use of voodoo," the source said of the yet another incidence of Nollywood's high brow marital collapse.

"Funke Akindele believes that Kehinde Oloyede used charm to marry here, and Funke herself simply could no longer cope with the marriage again as a result of many women in Oloyede's life, and the string of kids showing up from different women ...the union was dead on arrival."

The source also says Funke allowed the separation to come from her husband because of her celebrity status, and the need to manage popular perception about celebrities.

Efforts to speak with Funke Akindele were not successful as calls placed to her telephone lines were not successful.
