Although there have been times when he pined for a return to Liverpool, he is resistant to change after two and a half years in London.

Torres, 29, still has three years left on the contract he signed when he arrived from Liverpool in January 2011.

Although his move to Stamford Bridge has not been a complete success, the Spain international is enjoying London life after a difficult transition period.

Torres, who has been given an extended summer break following the Confederations Cup final against Brazil, is aware of developments at Chelsea.

Despite signs of improvement last season - scoring 22 goals in 64 appearances - Mourinho wants to work with Rooney.
