The 29-year-old actress - who
recently stepped down from her role as an ambassador for children's charity
Unicef in favour of a sponsorship deal with SodaStream - seduces a large number
of men in the film, and as the actors playing them were mostly amateur, she
says they found her intimidating.
She said: "These characters
that I'm picking up are those forgotten guys - they don't have any ties.
They're not like the coolest kid in school.
"So the guys I was working
with, it helped [their performance] that they'd be like, 'I can't believe I'm
sitting next to you.' "
Scarlett also revealed that she
felt uncomfortable whilst watching the film in which she plays a seductress who
preys upon hitch hikers, and said she tried to pretend she wasn't watching
herself on screen.
She said: "It was strange. I
felt really anxious. I didn't know what the film would look like at all. I
tried to watch it as an audience member. And it pulled me into it."
The Avengers Assemble star - who
got engaged to French journalist Romain Dauriac last year following her divorce
from Green Lantern actor Ryan Reynolds - filmed Under the Skin in the Scottish
Highlands and admits she tried some of the local delicacies.
She told SFX magazine: "I
don't eat red meat so I tried the vegetarian haggis. It tasted like stuffing.
And Irn-Bru - that's got a kick!"
