GUS Day 16: End of Innovation – Ikenna E as Been Evicted From The Search

Yesterday’s task involved the contestants making three trips down a hill to get three pieces of hexagon which they will use to solve a puzzle. After solving the puzzle, they will use a compass to get the direction of where to go and find the next clue (another important thing in the search/competition).

“What you seek lies at the place of the broken dreams.”

Having seen the note above, the contestants ran as fast as their legs could carry them to ‘the place of the broken dreams’ and began to search. Evi was the first to get to the place but could not find the clue; Noela did, using the clue she found to break the calabash as instructed. They were shocked that instead of seeing Ikenna E when they got back to their tents, they but found a note which instructed them to bring his bag and totem to the Place of the Talking Drum.

At the place of the talking drum, the anchor man, Chidi Mokeme congratulated the remaining 8 contestants for not just making it out of over 40,000 who applied for GUS and being among the 14 that were selected but for making it into the ‘General’s Army’. For this feat, the Council of Elders gave them two gifts each; one was a black bandanna with the GUS inscription which they were asked to tie immediately while they were to open the 2nd gift at their own time.

Mokeme lead them in a pledge: “It is a privilege and not a right to be in the great Generals’s Army, I’m honoured to be here. I pledge to give even flesh and blood to make sure the mission is realized.

With the bandanna and the above pledge, they were officially grafted into the Generals Army.

If Ikenna E was to make a wish, it would have been not to dream about his eviction because his dream came to pass. He dreamt of his eviction the previous night, unfortunately, he was evicted from the search for being the last to solve the puzzle. According to him, he was taking his time because he believed that even if he solved the puzzle late, he was still going to find the clue and break the calabash.

Instruction: The current tribe leader, Chinedu was told that he must carefully protect/guard all the clues found with all his might. They were all to work with the clues this morning, decipher what they all mean and return them at the Place of the Talking Drum tonight. They are also to burn their old bandannas.

Clue Found: The clue found was a beautiful axe with shinning blades. The inscription on it read ‘H.E.E.R.E.T’.
