Gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram stormed Damaturu, Yobe state capital in the early hours of today, December 1, and began bombing the city, leaving residents scampering for safety.
According to reports, the first port of call of these men was the State University located in Damaturu. One of the residents, who made an SOS call to news newsmen via telephone said there was confusion in the town, adding that it was obvious the attackers were out to overrun and take over the capital city.
