Club Owners Deny Receipt Of Supersport $34 Million Deal

The Nigeria Premier League club owners on Tuesday in Ilorin denied the receipt of official details of $34m deal signed by the League Management Company (LMC) with Supersport.

The acting secretary of the club owners, Alloy Chukwuemeka told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the owners only got a hint of such plans by the LMC.
“The club owners only got the hint of such plans by the LMC in the course of their previous interactions but are yet to receive official details.

“We will support any deal that will better and leverage our clubs as long as the deal falls within our belief without infringing on our rights and laws,’’ Chukwuemeka said.
He said that all they demanded were policies that would move the league forward and place the league among the best in the world.

The  deal was announced on Aug. 19 at a news conference in Abuja.
The deal would take effect from 2015/2016 league season. (NAN)
