A woman sat through many hours at
the tattoo parlor to cover her entire body despite the fact that she may never
be able to see the tattoos. Fran Atkinson, 52, of Wales,
United Kingdom, became addicted to getting inked. She spent 416 hours covering her
entire body in tattoos.
Atkinson has spent the last three
years getting a “body suit” of colorful ink despite having no idea what it
looks like.
The mother of one, who lives in
Rhyl, said that her husband, Ron, and tattoo artist Greg Bowman, acted as her
eyes. They describe the details of the intricate work of art done from her neck
to her ankles.
Atkinson suffers from retinitis
pigmentosa (RP), a hereditary disease, which causes serious vision impairment
and can lead to blindness.
Atkinson was not always blind.
She began losing her eyesight as a teenager and now is left with only three to
five percent of the vision, but said she has always had a passion for body art.
Now, she is hoping to make it
into the Guinness Book of World Records for the woman with the most tattoos.
