Chester & Scotland Striker, Chris Iwelumo Retires From Football

Popular Chester and Scotland striker, Christopher Robert Iwelumo also known as Chris Iwelumo has announced his decision to retire from professional football.

"Chris has had a glittering career in football for over 20 years. I'm sure that he retires with a heavy heart but I've no doubt that he will continue his relationship with professional football for many years to come," Chairman Grenville Millington told the club website.

The 36-year-old player began his career at St Mirren, and continued to play for 19 different clubs including Stoke City, Wolves, Colchester, Burnley and Watford. He scored once in 10 games after signing a one-year deal with the Conference side in June and was capped four times by his country, scoring more than 100 goals in over 500 senior appearances.
