Stephen Jobs, a co-founder of Apple computers understood as well as anyone what it takes to build excellence into people. While referring to leadership in a quote he said, "BE A YARDSTICK FOR QUALITY. Some people aren't used to an environment where excellence is expected...”

Ultimately, this is a defining milestone in the renaissance of Medical Laboratory profession in Nigeria. There is relentless determination for us to succeed in all we have set out to do, to stay at the top, find new territories and break new grounds.

Of all the contestants, Dr Bassey Enya, best fits into the mold for an AMLSN National President. He is a yardstick of quality to ALL Class of MLS.

He has played critical roles in the evolution of MLS from the struggle for the commencement of BMLS degree programme to the enactment of Act 11, 2003, the struggle for the implementation of several approved circulars, Job evaluation reports, Scheme of service, Medical Laboratory Science Policy, Human Resources for Health Policy to mention but a few.

He is a distinguished MLS at the pinnacle of his career, an accomplished RESEARCHER, an EPIDEMIOLOGIST & PUBLIC HEALTH SCIENTIST of International repute, a DIPLOMAT (with World Health Organization), a seasoned ADMINISTRATOR (State coordinator of WHO and Best state coordinator of WHO in Nigeria 2013), a successful ACADEMICIAN and a respected POLITICIAN.
