into people. While referring to leadership in a quote he said, "BE A
YARDSTICK FOR QUALITY. Some people aren't used to an environment where
excellence is expected...”
Ultimately, this is a defining
milestone in the renaissance of Medical Laboratory profession in Nigeria. There
is relentless determination for us to succeed in all we have set out to do, to
stay at the top, find new territories and break new grounds.
Of all the contestants, Dr Bassey
Enya, best fits into the mold for an AMLSN National President. He is a
yardstick of quality to ALL Class of MLS.
He has played critical roles in
the evolution of MLS from the struggle for the commencement of BMLS degree
programme to the enactment of Act 11, 2003, the struggle for the implementation
of several approved circulars, Job evaluation reports, Scheme of service,
Medical Laboratory Science Policy, Human Resources for Health Policy to mention
but a few.
He is a distinguished MLS at the
pinnacle of his career, an accomplished RESEARCHER, an EPIDEMIOLOGIST &
PUBLIC HEALTH SCIENTIST of International repute, a DIPLOMAT (with World Health
Organization), a seasoned ADMINISTRATOR (State coordinator of WHO and Best
state coordinator of WHO in Nigeria 2013), a successful ACADEMICIAN and a
respected POLITICIAN.
